The plays the thing....
The cast of Hamlet (a group of 4s and U4) have had a wonderful experience performing their entry to Coram Schools Shakespeare Festival.
Prepared in just one half term the intensive rehearsals included an excellent workshop with professional actor Alice Lamb - grappling with intent and projection.
On Wednesday 13 November we moved over to The Wilde Theatre at South Hill Park where Coram gave us warm ups, a professional technical rehearsal adding the magic of lighting and sound effects, a dress rehearsal and then the performance itself on the enormous Wilde stage. On Friday 15 November we finished the whole experience by performing at home at QAS for friends and family.
Stella (4s) who played Hamlet said "I really enjoyed the experience as it helped me develop my skills as an actor; I usually perform in musical theatre pieces so it was a nice change. I really liked being back stage at South Hill Park and getting into the mood of the play."
The cast thoroughly enjoyed bringing Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy to life and performed with confidence and passion.
