Drama L6

On Tuesday 21 May and Wednesday 22 May, a group of Lower 6 students presented their production of "Oliver! The Musical." The performances showcased the culmination of months of dedicated preparation and hard work.

This production of "Oliver!" was entirely student-led and a brilliant opportunity for the students to take on the challenge of running and performing a full-scale musical. The dedication and enthusiasm of the cast and crew was evident in every aspect of the show, from the direction to the captivating performances. The students had been preparing for several months, putting in countless hours of rehearsals.

Whilst admission to the show was free, there was a bake sale held during the interval with the proceeds being donated to Daisy’s Dream, a charity dedicated to supporting children going through bereavement. An incredible £300 was raised through the bake sale and an after-show collection.

Head of Drama, Mr Punter, expressed his admiration, stating, “I was so impressed to see the girls taking the initiative and putting on this production entirely by themselves. It was a terrific show.”

The success of “Oliver!” is a testament to the talent and dedication of the students at Queen Anne’s. Their ability to independently produce a high-quality performance speaks volumes about their teamwork, leadership, and commitment to both the arts and charitable causes.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and supported the production, and we hope you enjoyed the show as much as the students enjoyed performing it. View the Flickr album of the production here

We have more exciting productions lined up! In June, Lower school will be presenting “Peter Pan” and in February, the school will stage “Little Shop of Horrors”.
