Psychology Workshops with Henley Business School

Psychology Lecture Talk

On Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 March, Queen Anne’s Psychology Department welcomed Sam Mather, a leadership and effectiveness lecturer at Henley Business School, to work with a selection of our L6 students to teach a range of techniques and cognitive skills associated with resilience.

Current research has shown that adults begin to gain these skills as they age and move into a working environment; the purpose of these workshops was to determine if such strategies can be taught to young people earlier in life.

Students worked collaboratively to explore goals and values, learn about the organisation of the brain and how this shapes emotional responses, before exploring the ‘healthy mind platter’ – the recommended daily diet of activities needed to keep a healthy mind.

Thank you very much to Sam Mather for leading such an informative session for our L6 psychology students.
