MedSoc's Visit from Radiologist, Dr Kumar

MedSoc (and anyone interested in the topic of AI and Medicine) had the opportunity to host Dr Kumar, a radiologist from Frimley Hospital. She spoke about the use of AI in radiology (specifically breast cancer) such as it's ability to detect tumours and give priority to abnormalities in hospital scans. Dr Kumar also gave insight into her journey to medicine and the important skills she picked up along the way.  It was a very interesting talk and ended in a Q  & A which allowed everyone that took part to further their understanding of the topic.

I learnt that Medicine is a huge commitment and its good to reconsider your career path sometimes.

It was enlightening to learn about the medical journey from a doctor’s point of view. I also found the topic of AI integrated into Medicine very interesting and progressive
