Competition Achievement

Last month, a group of our Queen Anne’s girls went to the British Museum in London, to compete in the final of the HSBC/British Council Mandarin Chinese Speaking Competition.

Melissa J (4), Lara L (4), Luisa B (U4), Gabrielle H (U4) and Molly S (L5) competed in the group finals, and Molly also competed in the individual finals, against a number of other schools.

They were marked on their communication, presentation, fluency of Mandarin, use of vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation, by a panel of distinguished judges.

The final result was a close call, but Queen Anne’s group team placed 2nd nationally, only being narrowly beaten by a specialist language school! Molly also placed 3rd in the individual category.

Congratulations to all our girls who took part in the HSBC/British Council Mandarin Chinese Speaking Competition final! We are extremely proud of your dedication and hard work, which has now led to being some of the top Mandarin speakers in the country.
