L6 Art

Our L6 A Level art students have been working hard on some textile projects, of ‘Familiar Places’ and ‘Personal Journeys’.

They have been using a variety of hand and machine sewing techniques to create intricate intricate artwork, made from thread and fabric, resembling a place which has particular meaning and significance to them.

Our students’ work is inspired by the artist Stephen Wiltshire, an autistic architectural artist, who is known for his ability to draw detailed landscapes after just seeing them once, drawing whole cities from memory.

Alia has been working on a piece of textile art of her home, which is close to a mosque and has lush green trees at its entrance.
