On Saturday the U15, U14, U13 QAS lacrosse teams had an early start when they travelled to the South West Rally in Sherbourne.
The tournament involved schools in the South West region with approximately 15 teams competing in each age group.
U15s
The U15s won their pool during the morning matches with some brilliant match play. In the afternoon, the U15s went straight into the Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Finals, remaining undefeated until the semis.
U14s
The U14s had a great morning, beating everyone in their pool including Heathfield and St Mary's Calne. The girls then competed in the Championship against some tough competition, including Downe House, St Swithun’s and St Helen’s and St Katharine’s, who the U14s had played against and lost to, earlier in the season.
Their game against Downe House was an exciting one, with the teams drawing 2-2 throughout the second halp until Ottie (U4, year 9) scored the winning goal in the last minuite of the game!
The girls went on to beat everyone in the Championship, securing the win. Mrs Shuler, the U14 team coach commented, "all the girls put in a great effort, despite being up at the crack of dawn and playing in the very cold and windy conditions!"
U13s
The U13s performed fantastically, dominating their matches in the morning, winning their pool stages. The girls were then placed into the Championship Division based off their morning performances. In the afternoon the girls faced stiff competition with an especially hard match against St Swithuns. The girls fought well all afternoon finally finishing in second place out of eleven schools. A fantastic achievement!
