Kind Hearts Whole School

Hi, my name is Temi, and I am currently in Lower 6 at Queen Anne’s as a full boarder.

I am currently studying for my A Levels as I am in my first year of Sixth Form. My chosen subjects are Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Spanish. My favourite subject is Chemistry because the practical studies we do are entertaining and challenging, such as making our own ice cream. I enjoy the problem-solving skills that it requires and it helps me to understand the world around us better.

I joined Queen Anne’s in 2018 as a Lower 4 student. When I first toured Queen Anne's, I admired the amount of extracurricular activities on offer. From trampolining to orchestra to drama clubs, I knew there were lots of activities to throw myself into. Queen Anne’s doesn’t only focus on academic success, but developing other important skills as well. Also, it is a very tight-knit, positive community where you can almost know everyone! Even if you are in Lower 4 it is common to have friends in other year groups and Sixth Form that can help you through your first year at QAS.

As a music scholar, I am part of the string orchestra and play in as many concerts as I can. I am also part of Consort choir and sing in services such as our Dorchester Abbey Carol Service and our Westminster Abbey service. I am also part of the netball team and represent QAS in matches, where I enjoy representing our school.

Being a part of the Queen Anne’s community is important to me and I get involved in lots of ways. I have been a full boarder in Maddock since Lower 4 and take part in almost all the boarding activities such as tie dye, baking, bracelet making and much more! I am a peer mentor and help girls throughout the school by giving them support and a friendly face to talk to. I am also head of Austen Charter and lead my charter in competitions!

One of my favourite school memories is my first time going to Westminster Abbey and being part of the choir. The church is so beautiful, and it was so cool to finally step foot in the place where coronations happen.

Being in an all-girls school gives you the freedom to be yourself and be more confident. Girls also have the opportunity to learn how to be leaders and how to inspire others.

My biggest achievement since joining QAS is being the only student to get the Diamond award for merits!

After Queen Anne’s, I would like to study Medicine and I look forward to what the future brings.
