Inter-House Rowing

After school on Thursday there was a frenzy of rowing activity in the Inter-House rowing event. Girls were rowing so hard we had to pin down the rowing mcahines to stop them moving across the floor. It was great to see girls from every year group involved. The staff versus Sixth Form race was also great fun to watch.

The Inter-House rowing results are as follows:

  • In fifth place: Maddock
  • In fourth place: Ffyler
  • In third place: Webbe
  • In second place: Wisdome
  • And in first place: Wilkins!

Congratulations to all the girls from Wilkins house who competed.

Cross Country

Whilst lacrosse matches were cancelled this weekend, the Berkshire Intetrschools Cross Country Championships went ahead at Newbury Showground. In true cross country tradition the weather was wet and windy and the going underfoot muddy.

We had two teams entered, a year 7 team and a year 8 team and they all placed strongly.

Year 7 (L4)  TeamYear 8 (4) Team
Libby R, Esme W, Bella M, Holly DElla B, Georgie G, Alice B, Katie W, Katia L, Anna B

Congratulations go to Libby R (L4) who placed third in the U13 age category. She has now qualified to represent Berkshire in the Inter Counties Schools Cross Country Championships, together with Ella B (4) who qualified in the U15 age Category.

Our U15 team achieved a team bronze for their efforts, which is a great result.

Trampolining

On the same day of the Cross Country Championships it was the zonal round of the National Schools Trampoline Championships at Eastleigh.
We had two novice teams entered and one elite individual.

Year 7-8 Novice Team:

Iris C (L4), Sasha B (L4), Alice B (4), Eloise H (L4)

Year 9-10 Novice Team:

Annabelle F (U4), Louisa H (U4), Claudia M (U4), Poppy W (U4)

Year 7-9 Elite Individual:

Amelia S (U4)

The year 7-8 Novice team finished second overall and as a result have now qualified for the National Schools Finals in Cannock at the start of March.

Alice B (4) placed third out of 36 competitors and has therefore qualified for the National Finals both as part of the team and also as an individual.

The pressure was on for the year 9-10 novice team, but they held their nerve. They too have qualified for the National Finals.

Amelia S (U4) was competing in the Year 7-9 elite category and won the class with style. She too moves forwards to the National Finals.
