On Monday 17 June, the L6 Classical Civilisation class visited to British Museum in central London.
Viewing artefacts is an essential part of studying art and archaeology and this year the Sixth Form students have been studying a unit on Greek art as part of their A Level.
We are fortunate that the museum contains a number of the specified Athenian vases, free standing sculpture and architectural sculptures and we were able to view a number of these a close quarters.
The highlight of the trip was our study of the Parthenon marbles which are regarded as some the highest achievements in western art.
Lunch and a trip to the shop were clearly also popular!
