Art Achievement

Along with students from Westminster City, Emanuel, Sutton Valance and The Grey Coat Hospital, Queen Anne’s students were included in the annual Foundation Schools’ Art Exhibition 2020. This year’s event was held virtually due to Covid restrictions, but this by no means affected the extraordinary skills of the young artists. Students from all of these schools have exhibited their artwork and art staff across the Foundation voted for the winners in several categories.

We are delighted to announce that Sophia E was awarded the prestigious honour of ‘Best in Show’ with her portrait entitled ‘Twelve’. Sophia painted a series of portraits of her friends depicting their different skin colours.

Alongside this success, Gabby H's portrait study of Arcus was awarded 'Best in School' for Queen Anne's.

Both Sophia and Gabby will win prizes as part of these awards with vouchers of £150 and £100 respectively to spend on art materials.

Queen Anne's School featured several pieces in this exhibition with 21 students showing their work. Additional prizes have been awarded to these brilliant artists: Charlotte L won ‘Best in Sixth Form at QAS’, with both Lucy O and Izzy H winning the category ‘Best in GCSE at QAS’ for their Still Life paintings. Finally, Katie L won ‘Best in Key Stage 3’ (L4-U4).  All of these category winners will be awarded £100 voucher prizes, to be spent on art materials.

As part of these awards, The United Westminster & Grey Coat Foundation have released an interactive exhibition, which enables you to look through all of the amazing artwork which was selected to be in this showcase.  Please click on the box below to browse through and take a look at the wonderful submissions across all of the schools.  Congratulations to all of our winners, along with the Art and Design staff, on this fantastic achievement!
