Last week the sports department was once again very busy with a number of fixtures and competitions in swimming, netball, lacrosse, rowing and  cross country!

SWIMMING

v Crosfields

The U12 and U13 swimming squads enjoyed a very competitive fixture against the girls and boys of Crosfields School. It was a very busy programme and stretched both schools sets of swimmers. The U12 team had Erin (L4) and Clem (L4) competing for the school for the first time and both girls made a great contributions. Finn (L4) led the team well and Lulu (L4) produced some exciting swims. The U13 team had Amelie (4s) leading from the front and she was backed up superbly by the whole team. Olivia (4s) had some brilliant swims but it really was a great team effort from all.

NETBALL

v Maiden Erlegh

The U15A and U15B teams played Maiden Erlegh away on Monday 17th Jan. Both QAS teams were dominant for their first game back after the Christmas break with a 19-7 win for the U15A team and a 20-4 win for the U15B team.

v Claire's Court

The U12A, B & C teams played Clare's Court away on Tuesday 18th Jan. The teams were well matched with a loss for the U12A team who were against a very tall team, but there were wins for both the U12B and U12C teams!

LACROSSE

v Haberdashers' Aske's

On Saturday 22nd Jan QAS played seven very muddy lacrosse matches against Haberdashers' Aske's. The Senior 1st and 2nd teams travelled away to the Abbots Hill tournament. The 1st team had a very successful day placing second overall out of twelve schools.

South Schools Lacrosse Tournament

The U15 lacrosse team finished 3rd in an incredibly tough South Schools Lacrosse tournament. They finished second in their pool with key wins against Caterham and St. Pauls and a nail-biting draw to Lady Eleanor Holles. The girls qualified for the top division for the afternoon and progressed to the semi-finals. Unfortunately, the girls were knocked out on golden goal to a strong St Swithuns team.

ROWING

Some of the Queen Anne’s girls were competing at a very chilly Northampton Head on Saturday with Thames Scullers. The Womens' 4+ was the fastest women's four of the day and the J15 double of Hannah (L5) and Flo (L5) won their race. All the hard training is clearly paying off.
