QAS Music Department’s Trip to the Royal Albert Hall

Trips Music

On Tuesday 5 November, a group of A Level and GCSE music students had the wonderful opportunity to attend a live concert at the legendary Royal Albert Hall. It was a night to remember, as we watched the renowned Royal Philharmonic Orchestra take the stage with outstanding soloists from both West End and Broadway. They brought to life beloved classics from musicals like West Side Story, Oklahoma, Guys and Dolls, and many more.

As string players ourselves, this concert was a very inspiring experience. Hearing such a wide variety of musical styles in one performance was eye-opening, showing us just how expansive the world of music truly is.

Some highlights from the evening included Singing in the Rain, which was Anna's favourite while Eleanor loved the performance of Over the Rainbow. These songs really resonated with us, and it was incredible to hear them performed live by such talented musicians.

We’re already looking forward to any future trips the music department might organise. This was an experience we’ll never forget!
