4s student Libby R has had a busy and active summer of sports!

Libby finished her 2019 Modern Pentathlon LaserRun season by winning Team Silver at the 2019 UIPM World Modern Pentathlon & LaserRun Championships in Budapest.

She led lap one of the three lap 1200m race after an amazing 6.45s first shoot, holding on for 7th place overall at the finish. Only the big Pentathlon nations of Hungary, South Africa and Egypt finished ahead of her.

36 U13 girls from 12 different nations qualified for the final from the qualification rounds, and Libby was the first GB athlete to cross the line in the final! She also earned a solid 9th place with her partner in the U13 mixed relay.

Libby had the great honour of being track side to watch Team GB’s Joe Choong win World Silver in the Senior Modern Pentathlon Championships, Team GB’s Kate French win World Bronze, and seeing both Team GB Men and Women win World Team medals. A great experience, especially as she had been bumping into them all weekend at the team hotel!

This achievement follows the European Relay Gold and Team Silver Libby won previously this summer at the UIPM European Championships in Germany, the individual Bronze and National Team Gold she won for her region at the Youth Sport Trust National Schools Laser Run Championships in U14 Girls, and the National Individual & Team Gold she won at the U13 Pentathlon GB National Laser Run Championships.

Incredible achievements for Libby – we’re out of breath just listing them, let alone training for and competing in them! Congratulations!
