A group of L6 and U6 art students set off, by train, for St Ives, Cornwall, for a long weekend of creativity on 24 January. This was the 4th annual visit by Queen Anne’s to this amazing place.
The trip provided students with the opportunity to visit the Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and most importantly to work with a local artist.
Students met with artist Greg Humphries, who last year was commissioned to build a spectacular natural sculpture with the girls in front of the Elliot Art Building here at Queen Anne’s. Greg was the perfect guide for the girls’ art adventure, and taught them new techniques inspired by other artists.
Everyone has returned with lots of great ideas for their own work and a sketchbook full of observational drawings. Another successful residential art trip!
