A round-up of all the latest sports news in the week commencing Monday 16 March 2020.

 

Lacrosse

Several age groups of Lacrosse Nationals took place last over the last week.

The U14s had some super matches, but the boggy ground made for tough going. The last 16 match was very tight and played in swamp like conditions.

 

V St George’s Ascot: Won 8-2

V Caterham: Lost 1-4

V Heathfield: Won 4-1

V North London Collegiate College: Drew 2-2

V Morton Hall: Lost 0-9

V St Helen’s and St Katharine’s: Lost 0-1

The U15As won all the matches in their pool and in a testament to their fitness, skill and determination, progressed right the way through to the semi-finals.

 

V Benenden: Won 12-0

V Stowe: Won 5-0

V North London Collegiate College: Won 4-2

V Caterham: Won 3-2

V Sherborne: Won 3-2

V Claremont Fan: Won 5-1

 

Championship Last 16 v St Mary’s Calne: Won 3-1

Quarter Finals v Lady Eleanor Holles: Won 3-2

Semi Finals v St Catherine’s: Lost 0-7

Commended: Lucy B (L5), Flo C (L5), Emma B (L5), Niamh G (L5)

 

 

The 2nds made it through to the final 16 of the nationals and had a very close final match against Putney High. As you can see from the photo below, conditions were extremely muddy after heavy rain near the end!

Trampolining

In news from another sport, Amelia S (L5) competed in the finals of the National Schools Trampoline Championships on Saturday and is now the National Schools Champion in elite category. Congratulations Amelia!
