We are delighted to join forces with Thomas Franks to help provide healthy, nutritious meals to vulnerable children and adults across the UK and Europe.

Having long been the official catering supplier for Queen Anne’s, Thomas Franks set up Feeding Communities, as a separate entity in the wake of the global pandemic. Queen Anne’s was pleased to be able to help this fantastic cause to alleviate food poverty, by donating kitchen space to facilitate the production of some of these meals.

Since the initiative was conceived, over 350,000 meals have been prepared and delivered thanks to generous donations by a number of suppliers and staff, allowing distribution of these meals to various charities across the country.  This has included supporting a number of causes in the local community surrounding Caversham, such as Berkshire Women’s Aid and Sport In Mind, allowing these charities to provide people food who do not have access to meals throughout this period.

Frank Bothwell, Managing Director of Thomas Franks said: ‘“To provide food aid for these local charities has been one of the most emotional projects that I have personally been involved in.  I am proud to stand with Queen Anne’s School and their Headmistress Julia Harrington, in delivering food aid for these worthy causes.”

Our Headmistress, Julia Harrington, was equally delighted to be involved in this project stating: “At this time, more than ever it is important to help where we can.  By providing our kitchen space at a time when we are not able to utilise this ourselves, we are playing a small part in this fantastic project.  We are delighted to be able to help in this way, giving vulnerable children and adults access to healthy, nutritious meals.”
