On Thursday 20 March, Queen Anne's parents and staff gathered in Café 6 for an immersive Gin & Rum Tasting event hosted by The Henley Distillery.
Jacob, from the Henley Distillery, kicked off the evening with an insightful talk, delving deep into the art of gin-making. As the owner and master distiller of the distillery, Jacob shared his personal story and his passion for crafting award-winning spirits. At just 28 years old, his knowledge and enthusiasm were truly inspiring. He gave guests a behind-the-scenes look at the distillation process, sharing how he works alongside his father to bring his dream of creating exceptional, globally recognised spirits to life.
Jacob guided guests through the tasting of three unique gins and a rum, explaining the intricacies of each spirit. The tasting experience was complemented by delicious sharing platters of cheeses and charcuterie.
QASPA ran the bar and held a raffle to raise money for their chosen charity, No5 , which offers mental health support and counselling to young people in Reading. The evening offered a wonderful opportunity for everyone to relax, learn and enjoy the tasting experience in the company of friends and colleagues. A huge thank you to Jacob, Vicki, and QASPA for making the night such a success! And a final shout out to Mr Towse for providing a minibus service home for some of our guests!
