New York called out for the art students of Queen Anne’s as the diverse and bustling city was the perfect place for the student’s creativity to run wild.

Through exploring and integrating both art and music throughout the trip, our artists experienced a variety of different practices which inspired their ideas and artistic development.

The every-day places, people and objects seen whilst roaming the city provided a focal point to their works, which increased their understanding of how a visual journey can be documented.

The students found inspiration from the harmonious QAS choir performance at St. Patrick's Cathedral on 5th Avenue; creating abstract pieces which translated their emotional connections to music.

Visits to MOMA and a variety of thrift stores to see how galleries and shops compose their spaces to influence an audience.

The trip was an unforgettable experience for the art students, who found great New York a great inspiration to their artmaking which has developed their understanding and learning of artistic practice.
