Some of the QAS students headed to Sutton Valence School in Kent on Friday, which turned out to be the hottest day of the year so far.

The Sports Day was for the five schools who are a part of The United Westminster Grey Coat Foundation; Queen Anne's, Sutton Valence, Westminster City School, The Grey Coat Hospital and Emanuel School, although unfortunately Emanuel School was unable to attend.

Fortunately the track was on top of a hill and there was a breeze blowing. The girls managed the heat well staying in the cool until close to their race time and keeping hydrated. Track events were up first with the middle distance events starting the day. Marley (4s), who won the junior 800m, ended up at the end of the day as the highest individual point scorer.

There was only one championship record broken this year and that was by Eliza (U4), who ran a blistering 300m. After a brief lunch stop it was on to the field events, where again Queen Anne's consistently placed highly with wins for Lola (4s) in junior javelin and Toni (L5) in inter long jump.

There were ice lollies in the afternoon to keep everyone cool and Ms Purves was there to cheer the girls on.

Cheering the girls on was Head of School, Ms Purves and there were ice-lollies to keep everyone cool.

At presentations the girls won the junior and inter competitions and consequently Queen Anne's retained the Foundation Schools Cup for the 17th consecutive year. A fantastic result!
