Regional Tennis Finals
Last week on Thursday the U15A tennis team headed to the White Horse Tennis centre in Abingdon to play in the regional tennis finals of the Youth Schools Tennis Competition.
With winners of several county finals (Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hampshire) the standard was going to be really high. The girls started well winning their first-round match and progressed into the semi-finals against a strong Wycombe Abbey team. The singles we were tied 2-2 going into the doubles and again after the doubles we remained tied 4-4. A ten-point championship tie-break was needed to decide the winners. Mary B and Holly R stepped up for Queen Anne's and after some nail-biting points managed to secure the win 10-6.
Queen Anne's then headed into the final to play against Ryde School. The girls came out fighting and showed how much it meant to them, they managed to secure the win. They are now the U15 regional winners. A huge well done to the team of Mary B, Annie H, Holly R and Grace H.
