Competition U4

On Monday 16th October, all the U4 students competed in the internal final for the U4 Tycoon Enterprise competition in St Cecilia’s Recital Hall.

Tycoon is a unique national enterprise competition for students aged 6 to 18. Every participating team writes a business plan, is loaned money, starts a business and trades, competing with other student companies through a Kickstarter style platform.

6 groups presented their business ideas to our panel of judges consisting of Mrs Tynan, Mrs Vought and Miss Clothier. Amongst the tough competition, 3 groups stood out and were selected to enter the national competition.

Each group will start to trade for 6 weeks, after October half term until the Christmas holidays.

The 3 finalists are:

  • Crafty Crochet who are selling handmade crotchet bags
  • Pulseras Jewellery who are selling string, bead and clay bracelets and anklets
  • Noel’s Novelties who are selling handmade Christmas baubles

Well done to all the groups for their hard work and impressive presentations. The judges were blown away by all the creativity, entrepreneurial spirit and teamwork shown by all the groups.

They will be marketing their products after half term and look out for them at the Christmas Market!
