A Level Dance

The A level dance students took a trip to the Rambert Dance Company’s studios on Friday 25 January, to experience an archive tour. The tour was very informative and personalised to the girls needs for their course.

Rambert Dance Company is Britain’s oldest dance company, with performances dating back to 1926. It is now one of the world’s leading independent dance companies, with unparalleled reach to regional theatres throughout the UK.

They were taken into the archive room, where significant collections that document the progression of British dance are held. They saw costumes, photos, read personalised rehearsal notes from choreographers, and were even lucky enough to hold shoes that belonged to Christopher Bruce CBE who was instrumental in the development of Rambert Dance Company.

We’d like to thank Rambert Dance Company for giving our girls such an informative and insightful tour of their archives.
