Ballet at Queen Anne's School - Dance Progress Update

One of our Grade Four ballet students Natasha has been working hard on her 1st arabesque line. We have been focusing on balance and strength this term and Natasha has maintained focus on this skill. Natasha is working towards her ISTD ballet exam alongside 14 other candidates. Ballet is very popular at Queen Anne's and we teach from Grade 2 up to Advanced 1.

Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is a method of strengthening and training ballet students to improve all areas of their technique. It focuses on core stability, turnout, safe jump execution and more. It requires a good understanding and concentration on a group of muscles which, in turn helps the students' progress their capabilities. This is not just for ballet dancers as the strength involved will benefit all styles of dance!

PBT is held on a Monday lunchtime and the girls have already seen improvements in half a term!

Our dedicated Advanced one student Celine practicing her Ports De Bras performance piece for the upcoming showcase on Friday 11th November. Celine wants to pass her Advanced 2 exam while here at Queen Anne's. Celine attends pointe club, ballet club and PBT as well as her own lessons and works very hard in ballet.
