The drama department were delighted that so many girls wanted to participate in The Woodley Festival 2019.
31 students (from every year group from L4 to L6) took part, performing a huge variety of pieces and styles of drama. From tentative first performers to experienced festival participants, the girls had a wonderful time and achieved fantastic results.
Special mention should go to Cesca M (U4), who, despite fierce competition, won two gold medals and the Junior Shakespeare Cup, and Maddie C (L6) who also won two gold medals and the Senior Shakespeare cup.
Rafiah M (L5) was the recipient of The Queen Anne’s Star for the most promising performance, and Queen Anne’s School was also been awarded the Sonning Players Trophy.
The festival ended with a gala finale concert in which Maddie C (L6) and Hauwa M (L6) (the winner of the Senior Contemporary Acting Silver Medal) had the rare honour of being invited to perform.
Congratulations to all candidates; you were a treat to watch!
