A Focus on Careers Awareness
The Queen Anne’s School Careers Showcase took place on Monday 14 October and was a resounding success. The event saw 30 exhibitors represented by 46 delegates connecting and engaging with over 450 students and parents to showcase careers and study routes in a wide range of industries.
Local and national employers and further education establishments gave up their time to spend the afternoon with our students to introduce and celebrate the careers they had to offer. Students were able to learn more about graduate programmes, apprenticeships, school leaver programmes, and further postgraduate.
The aim of the event was to help students raise their awareness of careers and study options to enable them to make an informed choice about their future.
Students were well prepared before the event and asked lots of insightful questions as they developed their networking skills. 81% of students agreed that they enjoyed participating in the Careers Showcase with a 83% saying they found it beneficial. 74% agreed that the event helped to raise their awareness of different careers and 67% felt it helped to raise their awareness of study options. 88% found the exhibitors to be engaging and knowledgeable about their industry and 60% of students discovered careers they didn’t know existed.
The exhibitors have provided positive feedback about the event and the time they spent with the students and felt they were able to make a positive impact. They had high praise for the questions the students asked and their general level of engagement at the event.
Thank you to everyone who supported the Careers Showcase from the exhibitors to catering, from the Events and Marketing Teams to the students themselves.
