Careers L4

On Wednesday 11 September, L4 students took part in a Skills Lab as part of our award-winning careers programme to learn more about skills and the importance of self-reflection.

Students took part in a series of workshops expertly delivered by John Easton (IBM), Rebecca Croll (Science), Mrs Norris (Science), Mrs
Powell (Dance), Mrs Horncastle (Escape Room), Mrs McConnell (Escape Room) and Mrs Teague (Food and Nutrition). These workshops included using bunsen burners, cooking potatoes, dancing, event planning and escape rooms.

The first part of developing Career Management Skills requires self reflection – knowing your interests, your skills and your strengths. The Skills Lab event was designed to introduce these building blocks at the beginning of each student's career development journey and demonstrate how skills are transferable across everything they do inside and outside of school.

Our students thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the event and were able to identify the skills they would like to develop in the future including; creativity, leadership and problem solving.
