U6 Skills and Self Development Day

On Thursday 12 September U6 took part in their own Development Day and were joined by some impressive guests.

Cassie Zuill and Louisa Yeoman joined us for our Women in Business breakfast event at the start of the day. They shared their journeys since leaving school with all the twists and turns, challenges and successes and everything in between.

Cassie is an alumna of Queen Anne’s School and currently works for Queensland Tourism Board. Her career has spanned many sectors including IT, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, and government and has taken her to over twenty countries.

Louisa is a current parent and is a co-founder of Astrid Advisors. Louisa has worked in capital raising and investment management for close to two decades.

The Women in Business event was followed by a ‘How to start your own business’ workshop hosted by serial entrepreneur Charly Lester.

Charly gave a brilliant overview of her entrepreneurial journey and offered great advice on how to cultivate an idea, conduct research, and take the brave steps to start a new business.
