On Tuesday 4 February, U5 were joined for breakfast by three apprentices who shared their journeys through their qualification, the reasons they chose to pursue an apprenticeship and what they hope to do in the future.
Jake Moreby has just completed his Radiography degree apprenticeship and is working at Royal Berkshire Hospital. Liana Lowne is in her second year of a Level 7 solicitor degree apprenticeship with Osbourne Clarke and Emma Duke has completed her Level 5 apprenticeship with the hospitality company, CH&Co and is now a Operations Manager within the business.
Students were given an overview of apprenticeships by Varsha Menon from Amazing Apprenticeships and now have a better understanding of the different levels, the differences to full time university and where to look for vacancies.
This was a great launch event for National Apprenticeship Week that starts on Monday and will help students to make an informed choice about their future.
