Dance Concert

On the evenings of Friday 10 May and Saturday 11 May, the Performing Arts Centre was packed with anticipating audience members, eagerly awaiting the start of Celebrate Dance 2019.

Every year, Queen Anne’s School holds our ‘Celebrate Dance’ show, appropriately named to showcase, acknowledge and celebrate all the hard work and achievements that have been seen in the dance department over the academic year.

The girls participating in the show ranged form the Lower Fours to the Upper Sixths, with some of our senior students showcasing work that they have choreographed themselves.

A wide variety of dance styles were showcased, including contemporary, tap, ballet and musical theatre, whether these had been developed in ISTD graded lessons, GCSE and A level dance lessons, or the various dance clubs that Queen Anne’s run.

“Celebrate Dance was a great success, and everyone worked so hard. It is rewarding to see the various year groups performing together on stage and supporting one another. These girls train hard in their weekly lessons and each year we see the level of artistry increase.” – Mrs Powell, Head of Dance

The dance show was simply outstanding! The standard of dance, the girls’ commitment and energy, the costumes – I felt I’d been transported to the West End! Utterly superb!

– Mrs Harrington, Headmistress

We would like to say a huge “well done” to all of our fantastic dancers who took part in Celebrate Dance 2019.

Incredible and inspiring dance performances were showcased throughout both nights, and we are extremely proud of your hard work and representation of Queen Anne’s School.
