Bugsy Plays to a Packed PAC!

Drama Whole School

After two years of socially-distanced or remote audiences, it was a delight to see full houses in the Performing Arts Centre for the three-night run of “Bugsy Malone”. The show, with its 10-piece live band, technical effects, superb costumes, dance routines, singing and cast of about 40 junior students had the audiences waving their arms in joy and greeting the finale of the performances with a standing ovation.

The show, although in name the “junior production”, was really a whole-school event with some of the choreography, musical and technical responsibilities being given to students in the middle and senior parts of the school.

Head of Drama Rhodri Punter said “in my twenty years at QA, this was the best junior production ever; it was an explosion of exuberance, energy and entertainment from  beginning to end”.

Congratulations to everyone involved in producing this stylish, professional and greatly entertaining show. I felt privileged to have watched. The music, dancing, performances, costumes – in fact, everything, were really great.
