Queen Anne's School and the local community enjoyed three high energy performances of Legally Blonde the Musical!

Students in the Lower 6 (Year 12) approached Head of Drama, Mr Punter, wanting to put on a show in the performing arts centre. Over three months, the Directors, Claudia, Paris, Esther and Maddie taught the songs, choreography and staging all whilst being in the show themselves. This entirely student-led production required dedication from all those involved, they all worked tirelessly to ensure the show was a success.

Their hard work certainly paid off, from the set design, to the thirteen musical numbers, the show was a hit. Across three nights the cast performed excellently, and with such energy it was infectious. The show was extremely entertaining with plenty of comical moments. Director of Sixth Form, Mr Stephenson even made an appearance as the judge in the show's final scene!

Mr Ben Stephenson commented. "The show was so impressive! The year group did everything, from casting to rehearsal schedule, with almost all the students contributing in some way. It was so great to see them having such a good time on the stage."

“This was an outstanding production and a huge amount went into it. The girls did absolutely everything themselves and it was all a great experience for them.” Head of Drama, Mr Punter.

The students were raising money for Trust House Reading, they held a bake sale earlier in the term and were collecting donations on the night. The charity is a support centre for those effected by sexual assault. The local charity provides a safe space, offers counselling, therapy and legal support for survivors.

"Trust House Reading has done amazing work in our local area and we wanted to help contribute to helping our local community to be safer whilst also showing support for such an important charity" - Legally Blonde Cast
