Lower 5 Trip to South Wales

Geography GCSE

The Lower 5 Geographers headed off to Margam Field Studies Centre in South Wales for their GCSE Geography field work expedition.

Over four days they walked through the Welsh valleys to study Cwm Philip River; analysing the effectiveness of sea defences in Porthcawl at Newton Beach,  studying the change in economic deprivation radiating out from the city of Swansea in Killay, Uplands and Sandfields and worked on presenting all of their collected data at the field centre.

The students were super lucky with the sunny weather and the Margam Field Centre was a happy home for a few days surrounded by loads of different animals, nutritious food for hungry geographers and cosy rooms - although they got pretty messy towards the end!

It was a really interesting trip and a great chance to bond with each other especially Miss Clarke, Mrs McGrenary and Mrs Tate!
