Queen Anne's School Reunion Day Brings Together Alumni for a Memorable Celebration

Caversham, April 27, 2024 - Queen Anne's School in Caversham played host to a heartwarming reunion as over 130 members of the QA Society, the school's esteemed alumni association, gathered for a day of reminiscence, camaraderie, and joy.

The reunion, held on the picturesque grounds of Queen Anne's School, offered former students and staff an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, revisit cherished memories, and explore the school's rich history and modern advancements.

After a welcoming coffee break, the day started with a touching chapel service, where alumni gathered to reflect on their shared experiences and offer gratitude for the friendships and values nurtured at Queen Anne's. The service served as a poignant reminder of the enduring spirit of community that unites past and present members of the school.

This was followed by a delightful lunch, where laughter and conversation filled the air as alumni exchanged stories and caught up on each other's lives. For many, it was a chance to relive the camaraderie and bonds forged during their time at Queen Anne's School.

Following the hearty lunch, attendees embarked on a nostalgic journey through the corridors of Queen Anne’s, guided by current pupils who eagerly shared insights into the school's present-day activities and facilities. From classrooms to boarding houses, the tour provided a glimpse into both the cherished traditions and the modern amenities that define Queen Anne's School.

Against the backdrop of the school's lawn, group photos captured the smiles and camaraderie of the reunion, serving as cherished mementos of a day filled with nostalgia and warmth. Attendees also had the opportunity to see the iconic red cloaks worn that used to be a part of the school uniform, evoking fond memories of their school days.

Furthermore, alumni had the chance to explore the school's brand-new facilities, a testament to Queen Anne's commitment to providing a dynamic and enriching environment for its students.

For many, the reunion day was not only a celebration of shared memories but also a chance to rekindle old friendships and forge new connections. As attendees departed, hearts were filled with gratitude for the enduring bonds formed at Queen Anne's School.

Reflecting on the day, one alumna remarked, "There was such a joyful and happy buzz and vibe all day from start to finish. My last and only visit must have been about 15 plus years ago. How exciting now everything was, the quad with its trees and garden, the school dining room now a concert hall… Our two guides were charming and interested in listening to how things were in 1954!”

The Queen Anne's School Reunion Day stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Queen Anne's and the profound bond shared by its alumni, spanning generations and continents.

Many thanks to our Alumni Coordinator, Amanda, for organising the day and for all staff, governors and current QAS students that attended and made the day such a special occasion.
