U6 Careers

Students in the Upper 6 were virtually joined by Emilie Philpott from Thames Valley Police (TVP) to discuss career opportunities and routes into policing.

Emilie discussed the uniform and non-uniform roles available in the TVP, and the students were surprised to learn that out of approximately 8,000 employees, roughly half are working in non-uniform roles. Emilie spoke of the benefits of working in a constantly evolving organisation who are public facing, who, due to the area the TVP cover, they police and deal with exciting events local to Queen Anne's; events familiar to many of the students, such as Royal Ascot and Reading Festival, along with Presidential visits and Royal Weddings.

As it is National Apprenticeship week, Emilie informed the students on a number of exciting degree apprenticeship opportunities and Diplomas available to graduates. It became evident to the students that however they wish to achieve it, and in whatever role is of interest, there is an opportunity with TVP.
