Last weekend, U5 student Annie K attended the Royal Academy Young Artists’ Summer Show in London, where she received her prize for Most Inspirational Year 11 Artist.

Her winning piece, chosen especially by Christopher le Brun, President of the Royal Academy of Arts, was displayed proudly at the exhibition. The Royal Academy received over 6,200 entries, and for Annie’s piece to be chosen and displayed at such a high level really proves the quality and influence of her painting ‘Me and My Sister‘.

Annie also met the exhibition’s curator, artist and Royal Academician Bob and Roberta Smith, who was incredibly excited about her work. Congratulations Annie!

A huge congratulations also goes to Sixth Form student Sophia, who has won the Royal Academy of Arts’ People’s Choice Award!

Her brilliant hand-cut portrait piece was voted for by the public as the favourite of over 300 pieces of artwork.

A selection of the top artworks, including Annie and Sophia’s entries, will be on display at the Royal Academy until 4 August 2019, so please do visit the exhibition if you have the opportunity over summer.
