The Colours of Queen Anne's

L4 Art

This week, as part of their Art classes, our L4s have studied Colour Theory.  Looking at how certain colours can help us associate different locations and feelings, they took inspiration from the digital design group 'Dorothy' and their collaboration with the Tate and the posters they designed: The Colours of London, The Colours of Liverpool and The Colours of St Ives.

Using their understanding of colour theory, the L4s then set about creating colours that reminded them of parts of Queen Anne’s and the school community. The colours are emotive and aim to help us with our own memory of the school. It tries to leave the viewer with a nostalgic of their own experience of a place or space.

This project has gone down well with staff and students, with some great feedback received.  In the next phase of this project, they are looking to print this work to be able to distribute posters across our community whilst we work in lockdown, to remind us of our wonderful school!

We hope you enjoy looking at all the colours that the girls have come up with in this work.
